Something Blue was the first of my two collaborations with New Perspectives Theatre Company exploring the possibilities of interactivity in work for rural audiences. Casting the audience in the role of guests at a wedding reception, the show shares the story of bride Jax who is faced with a life-changing decision on her wedding day.

This full length show aimed to create an exciting and fun experience for rural audiences, and was very well received in performance, at the same time as exploring local East Midlands issues such as high rent prices and economic decline. Incorporating games, an audience flash mob and karaoke, the show also set out to explore the possibilities for collective decision-making within audience groups and ended with a graduate-inspired finale that took everyone’s breath away.

Alongside director Tilly Branson we are exploring possibilities for further touring of this production in 2017.
